To assess DNA damage remaining in peripheral lymphocytes, 48 individuals were evaluated twice for lymphocyte micronucleus frequencies by the cytokinesis-blocking cytochalasin B (CBMN) analysis post relocation from radio-contaminated apartments after various periods of time. The frequencies of CBMN at the first evaluation were significantly higher than those at the second examination (Chang et al., 1999c).
