A Novel Grid-based Platform for the Care of Taiwan's Lung Cancer Patients

摘要

The primary purpose of this project is to build a comprehensive Gird-based medical tracking system to improve the health of Taiwan's lung cancer patients. The system incorporates a predictive cancer analysis system that assists physicians in diagnosing the early stages of lung cancer. There are various parts to the Lung Cancer Grid project. First, First the system networks the lung cancer patient's healthcare physicians, thus, allowing them to quickly and easily share the patient's medical records and information. Next, the second part of the system is the re-staging function that addresses the patient's current prognosis based on new clinical data received. Currently the parts to the Lung Cancer Grid project operate independent of each other. In the near future, they will be integrated into the single platform. Once the patient leaves the healthcare facility, his progress can be tracked and analyzed by his physicians using the platform. The patient also has limited access to the system and can view details of his progress. The software is also able to analyze the patients' reactions to medication. It can predict the survival rate of lung cancer patients both individually and in general terms as well. In addition, the system incorporates a 3D imaging system that greatly aids physicians in the early diagnosis of lung cancer.
