機構簡介
癌症在國內外一直是造成死亡的主要因素。隨著科技及醫藥的發展,很多疾病都得到很好的控制,然而在各種癌症的預防與治療上仍有很大的努力空間。
臺北醫學大學過去在生藥及藥物的開發及研究上已經有不錯的基礎,校內也有不少老師是從事癌症的各項基礎及臨床相關研究,三家附屬醫院(臺北醫學附設醫院、萬芳醫院、及雙和醫院)也都有設置癌症研究中心,分別致力於各項癌症的研究(例如臺北醫學大學附設醫院以乳癌為研究重點;萬芳醫院以腦瘤為主要的研究對象;雙和醫院以消化系統癌症)。
中研院為國內最高的科技及學術研究機構,擁有眾多傑出的科學人才,以及諸多先進的設備與技術。故臺北醫學大學積極整合校內各學院及三家附屬醫院的癌症相關研究人才,結合中央研究院之高科技、專家及設備,調整課程結構,擬設置「癌症生物學與藥物研發之博士學位學程」,雙方教授互聘,召募對該學程有興趣且具研究潛力之研究生,積極培育癌症領域的研究人才,以期對癌症的預防與治療能有更大的突破與發展。
