Abstract

In "life writing" freshman Bahasa Malaysia as the core curriculum, language skills or training to contact the life education in the higher education sector in recent years, Taiwan "mainstream trend" of Chinese language training courses. However, if "language education" must be a kind of "life education", then this "life education curriculum" should be how to reconcile the two to match, in order to effectively achieve the purpose of language training? How to avoid both as constraints, even tail wagging the dog, so overwhelming mistakenly focus on "life education" instead of "language education" above? He has become concerned about the Chinese language proficiency of education at the University of domestic interested parties must think about. That this, we can still be pressed further: the "life writing" as the core of the design of the freshman Bahasa Malaysia course if feasible, then this course the substance of the so-called "life education" is what? Traditional Chinese freshman curriculum and why "must" transition to this new set of curriculum conception and architecture? These issues are the focus of this article is seeking to explore it.To clarify the issue, the paper Providence, Chiang Kai-shek, Southern Taiwan three schools as an example, the idea of such courses, educational goals, planning, design and analysis of the source of these courses have the knowledge and power behind lineage. After reflection above courses, we propose an improved strategy, which advocates a college education should be an integral, freshman Bahasa Malaysia should be a part of General Education. That is, this paper by means of an American scholar Martha C. Nussbaum proposed a "narrative imagination" the ability to foster the ideal of modern citizens, and the development of an ideal language training courses. And try to follow this idea of planning curriculum design criteria and down semester.
