Translated title of the contribution: The Ceremony of Power on the Official Ban System on Songs during Martial Law Period In Terms of Subject Formation

Abstract

According to this essay, the basic mean ing about the establishment of official ban systems on songs during martial law period signifies one machine of power in modern Chinese history, as such establishm ent has given rise to the power relations of nation and society. An establishment of such machine was originated from the demands on the administrative power for on e modern nation as well as from one belief in Chinese culture and tradition th at one should be remolded prior to remolding the society meanwhile, thus underlying the foundation of disciplinary power in modern Chinese history. Despite the fact that the supervision of overall system was not built eventually in Taiwa n, the masses of discu ssion over its relative practice and potential functions had spawne d the concepts of correction and control systematically. Of most important, the di sciplinary power-centered subject belief has gone deep into people’s mind in the wake of the ambition to build supervision and monitoring systems by the government authority, as such belief has never been ceased as of date. We may have an introspection that we have done anything but introspected thoroughly the historical lessons from the ban of songs when we belief what we are and reprimand the faults.
