Abstract

This research is focused on the silicon photonic integrated circuits with grating coupler. The system creates a grating structure on a waveguide or substrate. It uses light gratings to guide light into a waveguide or substrate. The coupling efficiency of the grating is lower relative to the prism. Some of the incident light will be directly absorbed by the substrate. Its advantage is reusable.
