Scintigraphic evaluation of local recurrence of a primitive neuroectodermal tumor

Abstract

The available literature includes only one report of Ga-67 and TI-201 uptake in a primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) of the chest wall. A 34-year-old man with PNET of the left sciatic nerve underwent radical surgical excision in October 1999. He was rehospitalized because of a new palpable mass in the posterior aspect of the left midthigh region for 1 month. Serial scintigraphic evaluation was performed using Ga-67 and TI-201 scans to preclude possible local recurrence of PNET. Finally, pathologic analysis revealed local recurrence of PNET.
