Abstract
Flurbiprofen (FB) is one of photosensitizing non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). When FB was irradiated by low pressure mercury lamp in methanol, 3 photoproducts could be observed, respectively. A sensitive, and accurate stability-indicating high performance liquid chromatography for determining the photodegradation of FB was developed and validated with linear regression of calibration curve, intra-day test, inter-day test. The RSDs of intra-day and inter-day tests were lower than 1.1% and 1.7%, respectively. The percent recovery was between 98.2% and 102. 0%. These results show that good selectivity and specificity can be obtained by our established high performance liquid chromatographic method. With different alcoholic solvents, photo-kinetic of FB was observed. In the experiment, the results of using three alcoholic solvents were presented non-significant difference.
