Abstract

Iron nitride powders were prepared by a high energy ball mill starting from mixtures of α-Fe and γ-Fe2.33N powders, annealing in air, and then followed by structural and magnetic investigations. The powders were characterized by using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and Extended X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS).
