Abstract

Acute superior mesenteric vein (SMV) thrombosis is rare compared to acute superior mesenteric artery ischemia. We report here the case of a 90-year-old male patient who experienced severe abdominal pain in the peri-umbilical area. The presumptive diagnosis was post operation adhesive ileus.
