Abstract

In this study, five published single nucleotide polymorphisms in the GABAA receptor gene cluster on 5q33-34, GABRB2 C1412T, GABRA6 C1236T and T1519C, GABRA1 A15G, and GABRG2 A123C were applied to examine the association between them and alcohol dependence with withdrawal symptoms among 158 cases and 149 controls in the Taiwanese Han. The GABRA6 T1519C polymorphism revealed a significant genotypic association (P=0.006).
