Abstract
This article is to describe and explain issues of the aging of population and sex structure of population in current Taiwan, and then to show long-term care work mostly by female and raise further related issues. It is expected that the innovation model of long-term care can assist specialty integration and different work cooperation through one’s transdisciplinary multi-function to reduce economic load and improve quality in long-term care. Finally, establishing gender-friendly long-term care environment is proposed to make long-term care a gender friendly occupation, so that co-management, co-determination, and co-participation can be shared by both genders. This can lead to better development in long-term care and thus people’s needs can be fulfilled in Taiwan.
