Translated title of the contribution: Public Libraries and the Comics

Abstract

This article discusses whether a library should acquire comics into its collection from the aspects (characters of comics, missions of libraries, and principles of collection development. Among all types of libraries, the author believes the public library is the most suitable one to collect comics. However, in order to maintain the quality of library collection, general principles of collection development still need to be applied.
