Abstract

Objective: This study explored how inpatients weight and gain their rights, and characteristics associated with the attitude. Methods: We adopted a cross-sectional design and conducted a survey in the Taipei City Hospital. Results: The inpatients attached receiving and refusing as the most important rights, and gained most on respect and knowledge rights. Statistical differences were seen in receiving and refusing rights, respect and knowledge rights, participate and selective rights, and equality right Age, education level, marriage, religion belief and ward-departments of the inpatients were related to their attitude to rights. Conclusions: The inpatients demonstrated diverted attitude in weighting and gaining patient rights. The hospital should enhance patient right through hospital policies, systems and operating procedures.
