As the elderly population increases, the population is increasing who wearing dentures, so far wear removable partial denture (RPD) framework as widely. Though modern dentistry developed a variety of materials and techniques, and digital in fixed prosthesis is rather common, but RPD process still follow the traditional lost-wax technology to make. The traditional dental laboratory technology can succeed, but there is also time consuming, supplies, and need a lot of steps and sensitive technical shortcoming. The dental laboratory use computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and additive manufacturing (AM) to manufacture RPD framework is rare. The purpose of this study is CAD/CAM and AM to fabrication of RPD framework using digital methods. With Kennedy's Classification Class I models to study, First year digital scanned to the 3D model, CAD design and simulation 3D CAD RPD framework, and fabrication RPD framework; Second year for analysis of various processes RPD and physical testing. This study integrate the latest CAD/CAM and AM to fabrication RPD framework, and to find simple, rapid, accurate and durable way of optimizing manufacturing. This technology is from scanned the model, design and manufacture, using digital technology to replace the traditional dental laboratory, and expected soon to apply in the patient's mouth, to provide better dentures quality for an aging population.
