Application for Surface Modification and Patterns of Bio-Medical Degradable Material on Nano Forming Technology Using Anodic Alumina Oxide Template (II)

Project: A - Government Institutionb - Ministry of Science and Technology

Description

The goal of first year (2009) of this project is the fabrication of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO). This research discusses the processing property and quality of AAO by different processing parameters (the type of electrolyte and its concentration, voltage, electrical current). This year has manufactured the two different size pores (diameter = 100 nm, 200 nm) on AAO. This research uses the micro electroforming method to produce the mold insert of Ni-Co by AAO template (The diameter of nano pillar = 100 nm, 200 nm). This research discusses the replication and surface roughness of plastic product for AAO and Ni-Co mold insert by different processing methods and plastic material (PC). The different processing parameters of nano imprint are embossing temperature, embossing pressure, embossing time and de-molding temperature. The important point of this year had to discuss the surface properties (hydrophobic, hydrophilic) of plastic product by different mold inserts and to discuss surface modification of plastic product for different processing parameters of nano imprint technology. At this year (2010), the objects of this year are cell culture on different nano patterns of plastic product and cell grow on the animal experiment. This year firstly fabricates the AAO template (different sizes of nano hole) by the method of first year. Then this research also uses the micro electroforming method to fabricate the mold insert of Ni-Co by AAO template. This year uses AAO to produce the MoN thin film on the surface of mold insert by atomic layer deposition (ALD) and does the nano forming experiment (nano imprint, nano injection molding) by different plastic materials. The processing parameters of nano imprint are the same as the first year’s data. The processing parameters of nano injection molding are mold temperature, melt temperature, packing pressure, packing time and cooling time. The different bio-degradable plastic films and materials are PLA and PLGA. The different biocompatibility plastic thin film and materials are PC and PMMA. This research discusses the replication, surface properties and surface roughness of molded plastic product combined Taguchi method by different nano forming technologies. This research also discusses the wear property and hardness of different mold insert (AAO, Ni-Co). This research uses laser welding to form the artificial blood vessel by different nano patterned molded plastic products. Then this research uses the sterilization method to deal with the nano patterns of plastic product on the clear room. This research uses the vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) to culture on the nano patterns of plastic product (concave, convex) to observe the cell adhesion, growth and differentiation. This research uses the SEM and TEM to observe the cell grow situation after 1 day, 3 day, 5 day and 7 day for MTT test. The important point of this year is the animal test. This research takes the nano patterns of plastic product with VSMC to transplant in the animal (rabbit, mouse). Finally, this research uses SEM and TEM to observe the cell grow situation of nano patterns of plastic product from taking out animal body for 3 day, 2 week, 4 week, 6 week and 12 week. Finally, this research discusses the blood vessel narrowing for bio-degradable artificial blood vessel (PLA, PLGA) and traditional artificial blood vessel (PC, PMMA).
