Research Center of Geriatric Nutrition (RCGN) was established in January 2017, belong to the College of Nutrition in Taipei Medical University (TMU). We established this center because of the elderly population is increasing throughout the year. By 2025, Taiwan can be considered a superaged society, since it is expected to have 20% senior citizens.
In order to emphasize the importance of healthy aging, we ought to slow down the progression of senility, which means people with sub health or people with mild disabilities can recover their health and also to decrease the severity level of the long term care for the disabled persons. Our duties are to extend the health life expectancy, improve the quality of life and decrease the cost of medical care.
